“I had to live in the desert before I could understand the full value of grass in a green ditch.”
The Your Voice series is a celebration of you, our awesome readers all around the globe. We know you aspire to a better life for yourself and for those you love. You believe, as we do, that a better self is always possible, today, every day, for the rest of your life.
We celebrate you by bringing your voice to life on our pages at Happy Living. Whenever you feel inspired by one of our posts, books, blog theatre, talks, or podcasts, we want to hear from you. And when we do, we hope your voice will inspire others, so that together, we can improve the health and wellbeing of the world, one person at a time.
Today, we have the pleasure to feature the voice of Happy Living reader, Jorden, who writes about how Scott Barry’s book, The Greener the Grass found him.
My family is 6 generations still walking earth. From 102 years old to 3 years old all males. We all come from the earth, agriculture in our blood. My parents siblings and I own and operate a Turf farm. One in Colorado one in Wyoming. We grow natural grass, several varieties. You can smoke it in Colorado (reeferado) but it wont do you any good. Its not that kinda grass. We cultivate grass for lawns, parks, playgrounds, schools and such. Low water, native blends.
I am/was doing research on Grass, typed in key words came across this book. Ordered it and others along with an older movie with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr, The Grass is Greener. Have not viewed it yet, my busy time on the farm. I do make time to read, early mornings, quiet. I chose the Greener the Grass first. Football appeals to me. The cover has a ball on it in grass. Football is over, I miss it. Denver Broncos had a poor outing. The book was thin too. So, I cracked it open. Loved it! Grateful for it. The Greener the Grass found me.
What is happiness, truly, right now I can not say. I understand you are on a mission to improve health and wellbeing of the world, one person at a time. I appreciate this.
Thank you for your book. It is nicely tucked in my library.
