“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men [and women] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. . .”
We are Happy Living and we jive with the words Thomas Jefferson wrote down on paper 245 years ago. At our core, we exist to further this pursuit, the journey towards Happy.
We believe in Life. We believe in Spiritual Seeking and Physical Activity. We believe in Clarity of the Mind and in growth through Adventure. We believe in working hard and playing hard. We believe in the balance of giving and receiving, in doing and being.
We believe in Liberty. We believe in freeing ourselves from Financial Limitation to achieve the abundance that enables us to live our dreams and to help others live theirs. We believe in the spiritual journey, the freedom to seek, to unlearn so we may relearn. We believe in self-discovery and we believe in all forms of Love.
We believe in Equality. We believe that our team—comprised of folks from the South and Rocky Mountains and the West Coast and all lands and genders and races therein—is here to serve everybody. We work with writers and speakers and scientists and athletes and wine makers and entrepreneurs from all walks. And when we all sit down at our dinner table to break bread, we talk as one to figure out how to best achieve our mission.
That mission is “to improve the Happy of the World, One Person at a Time.” So, yeah, we believe in Happy. That the government exists for the people. That it is the people who empower those in power. That it is us, a great collective of humanity, that holds the answers to move forward peacefully and happily into an ever-better world.
True, there have been bumps along the way. We can all easily point to places and times and people to which Jefferson’s words were not heeded. We can see poverty and discrimination in our daily lives, depression and anxiety in our family and friends and perhaps ourselves—but Happy Living believes, as did Jefferson, that we are borne with the right to pursue the path that elevates our life and our world.
And so we do.
We write books and we speak at conferences in pursuit of this path. We host vacation retreats at our lake house in pursuit of this path. We coach entrepreneurs to achieve financial abundance in pursuit of this path. We work with Retired Athletes for Racial Unity in pursuit of this path. We work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation in pursuit of this path.
We wake up each morning in pursuit of this path and we go to sleep each night in pursuit of this path. We dream this path so we may live this path.
We believe happiness is possible. For everyone. And so we continue our work, one person at a time.
