Happy Living | Blog | Make-A-Wish“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.”
(Hercules)

Our goal here at Happy Living is to raise $6,000 for Make-A-Wish this year—enough to grant the wish of one child with life-threatening medical conditions—and to do it, we need your help.

Each month during 2017, we are presenting an inspiring video and sharing the story of a ‘Wish Kid’ in hopes that you’ll feel moved to support our cause. Today’s video brought emotional tears as I witnessed the pure joy in a little boy’s eyes the moment he saw his hero.

Chase is a seven-year-old boy with a rare form of cancer, and his wish was to meet his favorite hockey player, Jeff Skinner of the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes and Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina teamed up to make it happen. On wish day, Chase got to watch practice, meet the team and coaching staff, and tour the locker room. He even got to play street hockey with Jeff and his teammates! It’s a short and sweet video that captures the magic of a wish granted.

It’s my wish that you’ll help us in supporting Wish Kids by…

Pay it forward.[1] Everyone has something to give, so please give what you can, when you can. Every little bit helps give Wish Kids like Chase the courage to fight on.

With love and gratitude,

Special thanks and appreciation to @JeffSkinner ‏ and the @NHLCanes ‏‏for helping Chase’s dream come true!

[1] Pay it forward is an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying it to others instead of to the original benefactor.
