Seven Questions for 2014 | happyliving.com - image via Unsplash

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite days! There is something so exciting about the end of one year and the beginning of another. Today is a great day to reflect on the past and think about the future. It is a day to celebrate what has happened and welcome all that lies ahead.

For this last day of 2014, here are seven questions to think (or journal) about, inspired by our seven foundations of health:

What physical activity have I enjoyed most?
What book, movie, or TV show inspired me?
When did I connect most to my spirituality?
What meaningful purchase did I make?
Whom did I give my love to?
When did I experience true adventure?
What moments or actions were significant to me?

Try not to overthink this or come up with the perfect answers! Give yourself ten minutes and go with whatever first comes to mind. Here are my responses:

What physical activity have I enjoyed most? Yoga! I am so glad I found a studio that feels like home.

What book, movie, or TV show inspired me? It Starts with Food. I am going to read it again in 2015 before embarking on my 3rd round of Whole30.

When did I connect most to my spirituality? Exchanging vows with my husband on our wedding day.

What meaningful purchase did I make? Plane tickets! We traveled so much this year and each trip was a meaningful experience.

Whom did I give my love to? New friends, old friends, family, my husband, and myself.

When did I experience true adventure? My greatest adventure in 2014 was quitting my corporate job and helping to launch Happy Living.

What moments or actions were significant to me? Having all my friends and family in one place for our wedding celebration.

These seven questions for 2014 are a small way to reflect, honor, and celebrate your highlights from 2014. Wishing you a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve!
