“Spiritual energy, the energy that comes from pure consciousness, is the creative energy of the universe.”
~ Deepak Chopra

In my last post, Economies of Scaling a Kaizened Life, I wrote that “my life also gets easier and easier, year after year as I apply the economies of scaling a kaizened life.”

The economic benefits of scaling my kaizened life derive from three sources:

    1. Increasing my personal capacity.
    2. Flipping my HAVE TO/WANT TO ratio.
    3. Spiritual Energy.

Last post I covered One and Two. This post shares with you how the greatest life benefits of scaling my kaizened life come from the third, and the most powerful (and way more fun), source, Spiritual Energy.

To explain, let me share my definition of the difference between Earthly Energy, which is finite, and Spiritual Energy, which is infinite.

For me, Spirituality is all about learning to detect the differences between energy and ideas created by my mind (earthly energy) and those generated from deep within my awareness (spiritual energy).

I create earthly energy by continuously increasing my physical, mental, and financial fitness. The energy created by these practices is finite. Mowing the lawn, raking the leaves, and sweeping the driveway requires physical energy that must be replaced with food, and water, and sleep. Hiring experts and specialists to do the chores required to maintain our home uses up financial energy that must be replaced with a paycheck or other source of income. In other words, with earthly energy, what gets used up must be replaced.

I define Spirituality as discovering and cultivating the inner being that is my unique soul. Spirituality is realizing my inner spirit is my direct connection to the greater magnificence of everything in the Universe. It’s how we reconnect to the magical essence[1] that you and I were born with.

My spiritual practice is based on slowing down, being quiet, and listening to my heart. It moves me fifteen inches… out of my head and into my heart.

The head-based way of living connects me to the scarcity-life-view of my ego. Listening to my head brings me insecurity, and worry, and fear. From there, when I’m living in my head, life is hard.

The heart-based way connects me to the abundance-life-view of my Spiritual Source. Listening to my heart brings me energy, and ease, and joy, and grace. From here, when I’m living from my heart, life is easy.

My spiritual practice is to recognize head-based thoughts and actions and then replace ‘em with heart-based ones. It’s my practice of holding and strengthening those moments when inspiration strikes me and my “Spirit is caught” and staying “in-Spirit” more and more each day. The more I do this, the more energy, and ease, and joy, and grace flow into my life.

It’s great to exclaim that the energy I create from my Spiritual practice is infinite. The more I use, the more I have. It’s a lot like Love…well, actually, it is Love!

It’s love that creates Spiritual energy!

When you’re living a kaizened life doing things you love, with people you love, in places you love, life gets easier and easier. You don’t “have” to do it. Are you kidding me? You LOVE doing it! You LOVE it so much that you never want it to stop. It doesn’t wear you down; it lifts you up! Your life gets fueled by Spiritual energy when you’re living your life in-Spirit, and that kind of energy never, ever gets used up… the more you use it… the more you have of it… and the more you have of it, the easier and easier your kaizened life becomes!

So, that’s it.

That’s how the economies of scaling a kaizened life work for me.

My life gets easier and easier, year after year because I’m continuously increasing my capacity, one small incremental improvement after another, after another, day after day, for the rest of my life.

My life gets easier and easier, year after year because I’m continuously working to flip my HAVE TO/WANT TO ratio so I spend more and more of my capacity on what I want to do.

Finally, and this is the big one, my life gets easier and easier, year after year because my Spiritual practice of living my kaizened life doing things I love, with people I love, in places I love, fuels my life with Spiritual energy. The kind of energy that never, ever gets used up… the more I use it… the more I have of it… and the more I have of it, the easier and easier my life becomes.

And that truly brings me Happy.

I was enchanted by it the first time I read it a few decades ago, and it’s stayed with me all these years.
